Elisa di Rivombrosa: The First Episode

Elisa di Rivombrosa is an Italian historical drama that aired on Canale 5 from 2003 to 2004. It tells the love story between Count Fabrizio Ristori and the maid Elisa Scalzi, lady companion of countess Agnes, mother of Fabrizio. The couple will face many difficulties, intrigues of all kinds, a mockery of fate and various misfortunes.

The first episode of the series introduces the main characters and sets the stage for the romance. It begins with Elisa arriving at Rivombrosa, the estate of the Ristori family, where she will work as a maid. She meets Fabrizio, who is returning from a military campaign in France, and saves him from an ambush by some bandits. Elisa is loyal to the king and does not approve of Fabrizio's actions. She also learns that Fabrizio is engaged to Lucrezia Van Necker, a rich and ambitious widow who is in league with Radicati. Lucrezia is jealous of Elisa and tries to harm her in various ways.

The first episode ends with Fabrizio confessing his love to Elisa and kissing her passionately. Elisa is torn between her feelings for Fabrizio and her duty to the king. She does not know what to do or what will happen next.
